Use this form to register for the Backyard Pork ANCILLARY contest. This is not a entry for the full contest on saturday.
We are honored to have been chosen as 1 of 5 contests in the U.S. this year to parter with U.S. Soy and KCBS to offer the 2024 U.S. Soy Combine Award.
This award is given to the top three teams based on their combined scores for Chicken, Ribs, and Pork. Because Backyard does not typically cook the pork category, we have added this ancillary. So, if you would like to participate for these awesome prizes, you can do so.
Masters teams are automatically part of this contest. There is nothing further for them to do.
Team points will be tallied for the Chicken, Ribs, and Pork categories to determine U.S. Soy Combine Award winners. The pork scores will NOT be included in the backyard overall scores on Saturday; those will remain only Chicken and Ribs.
Pork turn in time on Saturday will be the same as it is for the Masters teams; 1:00PM.
Why is U.S. Soy partnering with KCBS? U.S. Soy is the preferred protein and nutrient source for chickens, pigs, turkeys, and other animal protein sources that consumers eat. Connecting with the country’s most regarded cooks and pitmasters at KCBS events is an exciting new way to show this influential group how U.S. Soy is an extremely versatile and environmentally friendly source of protein for animals that adds value at the beginning of the food chain and shows up as a powerhouse player on consumer plates in many ways.
Rules for the Backyard Pork Ancillary contest will follow the same guidelines found in the attached document regarding Pork.

1st: $750 +trophy
2nd: $500 +trophy
3rd: $250 +trophy
Minnesota Barbeque Society Awards
